Amer in NY, first off, support for Israel in the US cuts across the political spectrum. witness even 'dovish' Presidential candidates such as Obama and Hillary Clinton declaring a nuclear Iran to be unacceptable, and backing possible military strikes on it to prevent such an occurance. as would the US public, provided that the reasons were made known in a clear and effective manner. secondly, Iran threatens and has threatened more countries than just Israel. it has threatened and indeed has sponsored terror attacks against the US, and others, besides Israel. thirdly, it would not be a disaster for the world, it would be a disaster for the lunatics in Tehran and their nuke program, provided it were done correctly and thoroughly (as in, once you start it, you do it with overwhelming force...none of this 'pinprick' strikes here and there, those nuke plants need to be turned into rubble). the world survived the 73 oil embargo, it will survive the Iranian response.
