Here is an example of how insane this policy is: In 2006 the Siniora government was an ally of America and the west. Israel attacked Lebanon, using weapons provided by America and bombed that undefended nation from end to end, killing over 1000 civilians. At one point, Israel ran out of cluster bombs and requested an expedited resupply from America, which was provided. After a month of bombing, the Siniora government fell which placed Hizbollah in a strong position. America provided 200 million dollars to Lebanon to help repair the damage done by Israel. In short, America provided weapons to Israel which was used to subvert American policy in the region and then America paid to clean up the mess. After this America happily went on giving Israel even more weapons and money. America owes a big one to Lebanon for this insanity. Lebanon needs aid to protect it from its enemies. If those enemies are the crazy Israelis to the south, then so be it. If America wants to lower the level of violence in the region, they can start by halting all shipements of weapons to Israel.
