That is true. A president of a very tiny and dependent Latin American country was asked why he did not rush and accept a bilateral agreement of free trade with the United States. He kind of hesitate a bit and finally responded "You know..there are empires that raise up and others that go down....and America seems to be in the list of the last ones " Once the backyard of America , nowadays Latin America is shifting to China and leaving apart America. However, the most important development is that this process is done by liberals not "Chavista" populists. The old leftist phrase "yankees go home" is outdated. Nowadays it is not the antiimperialist left that is pushing America out but just liberals who are telling Americans "sorry friends.....thank you for applying but we have better offers" It sounds as classical "american" liberalist discourse. If that happens in Latin America we can imagine the situation in the Middle East. The only way America can recover its hegemony in the region is through hard power, and that could be done only through Israel. It is in the best interest of America to play the Israeli card. Stand strong behind its only reliable ally. As Noam Chomsky correctly asserts.Israel is the head of American imperialism in the Middle East. He is right. That is true and it should be that way, for the benefit of America and the benefit of Israel.
