As one of the founders of Shemesh, an organization in Central Galilee dedicated to promoting Jewish/Arab coexistence in Israel, and as a Jewish supporter of the struggle for rights and a better life for Israel's Arab minority, I am always frustrated and puzzled by the behavior of the elected leaders that supposedly represent my Arab friends here. The frequent outrageous press statements of Arab Knesset members, combined with high profile provocative moves like this idiotic jaunt to meet the Lunatic of Libya, plays directly into the fears and stereotypes that many Jewish Israelis have for "all those Arabs". This trip stregthens Lieberman and his paranoic group, weakens the stuggle for advancing rights of Arab Israelis and is a setback for peace, since it affects the most important Arabs for peace - those who live with Jews in Israel. Salman you are courageous and right on! Peace be upon you and all those who support you!
