Israelis have a truly impressive level of ability to engage in denial, which is shown repeatedly whenever anything even moderately unpleasant, embarrassing, or damning comes out about the nation, IDF, Mossad, Shabak or politicians. All of the disinfo techniques are on full display: deny; obfuscate; deflect attention; compare to worse crimes/atrocities/corruption; attack messenger/reporter/those who don't deny. While it makes for dull, ugly comments & responses, it does nothing to actually address the issue raised, and is really transparently obvious to any non-Israeli/non-Hasbarist that these are attempts simply to not address the situation. No one actually thinks Israel is "the light among nations," and no amount of name-calling (the dreaded 'anti-semite' canard) is working less and less often. In this case, the article is about an article, however, this is not the first time this issue of Sharon's war crimes has been raised, nor will it be the last, nor will anyone be fooled by the typical Israeli ploys to deflect attention from it. Best to face this head-on, admit errors (even of national 'war heroes') and make positive changes.
