Obama is the enabler of new settlements building. Obama does not understand that applying PRESSURE is the only way to stop the settlements construction (which is against international law). In dealing with Netanyahu, Obama tried to bribe Israel for the consent to halt new constructions for THREE miserable months. The attempt failed. What is the probability that this Israeli government will decide on its own to stop this enterprise? Clearly, this is extremely unlikely. In dealing with the Shamir government, pressure by Jim Baker was able to have the Israeli voter convinced that Shamir should be brought down. Pressure did not change the ideologue's mind, but it changed the mind of the voters. Obama does not understand this lesson. What the Israeli voter sees is that Netanyahu dismisses Obama, and the US keeps paying the yearly stipend. This appears like a Netanyahu success, so the voters can only increase their support for him. We see here the definition of diplomatic ineptitude.
