I always find surprising the fact that on one hand Israel is the only democracy of the middle east so the world should support her, 'cause she is better than her neighbors and on the other hand when it comes to face a critic the very same people who always repeat the only-democracy slogan claim that everybody does it, so you can't blame Israel for that. I definitely agree with you on the fact that a country should not be defined on ethnicity, and I admit with no difficulty that this is a problem involving not only Israel but also Syria, Egypt and so on. But first, if you claim to be better than the other, you must prove it and second, this is Haaretz and not Syria Today, or The Egypt Mail, so I am here to talk about Israel. About your final statement Tibi does not say the state is illegal. He says that as a non-jewish citizen he will never identify is own country as "the Jewish state". You can like Tibi style or not- I don't- but let me ask you, would you like your country calling herself as "the Jewish state" if you are an Arab?
