Many women, killed by partners, had fled to shelters but went home when support ended.09:23 14.02.16 | 0 comments
I am glad to know this young man is recovering quickly. It is most unfortunate that the Palestinians who were released have no chance to recover as quickly because they came back to another prison - the prison of an occupation and no prospect for peace. They cannot travel freely as Shalit can or have the luxury of engaging in activity without wondering if they will be arrested, or killed or deported or humiliated at a checkpoint. Gilad Shalit is a lucky young man to have found the kind of freedom that every Palestinian dreams of. Yes, he was imprisoned for five years, but he found freedom that is lost to generations of Palestinians his age and younger. It's sad really.
