A prominent 19th and early 20th century rabbi, Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld, claimed upon the German Kaiser Wilhelm's visit to the middle east in 1898, three decades before Hitler's rise to power, he had a tradition from his teachers that the Germans are descended from the ancient Amalekites. I have not read the book which is being mentioned in this article because I was born in Germany, can not read Hebrew, have neither a Jewish mother nor been raised Jewish. Sonnenfeld did not call to kill the Germans, he just was not interested in seeing the German Emperor. At the end, he was right when it comes to the Nazis. I feel uncomfortable with myself because of what happened. Nobody is perfect and you have Evil Inclinations and fanaticism in any tradition. Two WorldWars .. (Wilhelm called out for the first, Hitler followed with the second) ... This unspeakable approach towards the Jewish citizens of Germany before the war .. I can tell you: It defently sucks being an Amalek. But .. all in all this is not a easy topic and besides throwing opinions around, I would just wait and see what happens with those allegations. Or read the book to find out oneself.
