Not everyone needs to be a soldier - there are dozens of alternatives for serving the country and providing needed services to the community - which would be an honorable substitute for serving in the armed forces. The fact that the army is willing and able to forgo the conscript doesn't mean that they should have an unfair advantage over someone who does. By contributing equal time (and fair compensation for those that choose to take the risks of combat) - everyone wins.
