The question isn't whether Israel is a democratic place compared to the Arabian states; it's whether it's a democratic place. Nobody would claim Israel isn't a more benevolent place than North Korea, but that's not the question. Somehow apologists for Israel always defend it by maintaining it's better than other places; they never refute the charges made against it.
