Hate to tell you my friend but there was no israel in the 1800's, that colony came to exist in 1948 but if you incorrectly meant to refer to the land in general then in 638 AD the Caliph of the Islamic world, Umar ibn al Khattab signed a treaty which guaranteed that the places of worship will not be harmed and ever since then it has mostly been under Muslim control. In the 10th century it was ruled by the Fatimid Empire, whose control over Jerusalem ended due to the crusades, and in the 11th century Saladin re conquered Jerusalem and restored the purity of the city by cleaning it with rose water. Jerusalem was attacked by the tartars who the Ayyubid Dynasty threw out in 1247. From 1250 to the 15th century it was under the control of the Mamulakes. Yes there was an increase in immigration for a little while but those people still have more of a right to the land as they still got there before the european and soviet colonists arrived.
