#4 - It is a little ironic, you have to admit! Gay Pride is alive and well in Israel. Israeli Arab LGBT people are protected under Israeli law. LGBT (Lettuce, Gays, Bacon and Tomato) is punishable by death in the Arab world. And female genital mutilation is still quite quite big in Muslim countries. But we're not talking about the bottom-dwellers in the UN Human Development tables here. We're talking about one of the greatest countries in the world, Canada, where minarets are not deemed illegal, as Dinos in Switzerland have decreed, for example. Such fine Christian people, eh? I wonder if the organizers' best response might not be to encourage Gays *For* Israel to march alongside/just ahead of al-QuAIA - pointing out Israel's accomplishments wrt Gay Rights etc. And Toronto should continue to fund the parade, regardless, and make Tel Aviv Toronto Gay Pride's sister-city.
