The past and the present are good indicators of how the future will look like, at least as far as Netanyahu is concerned. He will not come up with new ideas that will move the negotiations with the Palestinians forward. He is not capable and is not inclined to take steps that will change the status quo. Unfortunately, the majority of Israelis are not interested in solving the conflict either. Netanyahu is in good company and nothing will change his mind or induce him to change his m.o. Thus far, it seems that Obama is disinclined to play hardball with him either.
