We can investigate this for months to come, and you know as well as I do in Egypt that the conclusion of such an investigation will be whatever the Egyptian street calls for. We already know what the Egyptian street calls for, so there is no surprise. If the investigations by Egypt turn out to show that Israel didn't kill Egyptian POWs, what will the government say? Will anyone even know, or will some obscure veterans come out of hiding for their 15 seconds of fame to agree with some of the parliamentarians as to the guilt of Israel. While Israel has media footage of both Israeli POWs being slaughtered, and of the news broadcast that Egypt uses to show the IDF of doing the same - Egypt possesses NO evidence of its own except heresay. Hardly a true claim in any real court of law. But at the end of the day, didn't both countries close the books of history to open a new future? Why are Egyptians so intent on digging up the past and buring their own guilt?
