    Perhaps the initial ruling with a spin would be a good idea for Jewish women whose estranged husbands refuse to grant a divorce. Imagine these women, who suffer with the status of the agunah, temporarily converting to gain a divorce. No, the rabbinate won't go for it. Neither will most of the women. But it's something to consider.
