I agree with all the other posters praising Israel's superb efforts in Haiti - wonderful work has and is being done by the IDF there, all credit to them. However, I find it a bit worrying that Israel would consider converting orphaned children to Judaism, when they have been brought up in a different religion and culture. Religion should be an informed, personal choice, and not pushed upon a child. Perhaps a 'middle way' could be for Israeli couples to adopt a child, bring him or her up with Jewish values, then the child could decide for his/herself whether to formally convert upon reaching adulthood?
