it is not clear that any law was broken. It would seem that they established "a precedent" based what happened at the school. The precedent became a law, of course. The parents who were no fools. were not sure they had violated any laws objected and were willing to go to jail to prove a point--they didn't break any laws! I'm waiting for a Haredi lawyer, the likes of Weinrot and Weissglass to sort out the issue in the favor of the Rabbis and their schools.
