'The prison walls don't keep out the change underway today in society about breaking the silence of sexual assault victims,' says therapy group leader Tamar Krock-Zamir.16:16 29.04.16 | 0 comments
Universities want to follow their own drummers, to be sure, and that is often better than government control. But let's not take this "excellance in teaching and research" criteria that they promote too seriously. At least in the U.S., the model is what will bring the university the most prestige and the most money with the "teaching" part far down on the list of priorities. Also, money is used in the U.S. for greener grasses, more luxurious dorms, nicer buildings, bigger administrations and high capital costs all while the universities try to cut teaching costs by hiring adjuncts at a pittance. So many schools in the U.S. have used their "freedom" to price themselves out of the middle class, and their purported devotion to knowledge and learning rings pretty hollow as a result. Their first loyalty is to aggrandizement of those who run the joints.
