Plenty of intellectuals like to talk about the idea of a single state and every single government in the western world ( US included ) wants a single state but the fact is all these governments know that even suggesting the idea of a single state means their careers are over so instead they have spent the past 20 years talking about 2 states. In Israel only the arab parties and the arab party Balad and the arab / jew die hard socialist party Hadash want a single state. Even the far left of Meretz would not go along with the idea of a single state so unless the MAJORITY OF ISRAELIS were in favour of a single state then it will not happen which is exactly how it should be, what good reason is there for Israel to give up its status as a Jewish state just because the palestinians don't like it? The palestinians are not Israeli citizens so it would be like Mexicans saying that they should all be granted American citizenship because thats what they wanted and what the American public wanted was irrelevant. It doesn't matter if every non Israeli individual on the planet wanted a single state unless its what the majority of Israelis want then tough. Arabs & Jews would not be having group hugs and singing kumbaya in a single state, arabs hate Jews and Jews hate arabs and we would probably have an all out civil war. In Israel we have so many groups in a single small country then you get culture clashes and everybody hates somebody even if they don't admit it and the groups hated most of all are arabs and illegal african infiltrators. Gideon can form his own party of he wants which makes a single state its platform but he would be taken so seriously he would be lucky to win a single Knesset seat. You and Gideon are living in a dream world if you think Israelis would consider a single state acceptable.
