Make no mistake, if Abbas DOES agree to go ahead with ANY talks whatsoever with Israelis still building on occupied lands, he won't stay in office for too long. He knows that the Palesitnian people will throw him out of office if he dares to do anything without their approval. In fact, the current talks are illegal because Abbas's mandate expired about 1,5 years ago. So he does not represent the Palestinians in any way and therefore these talks are not binding in any way.
