In response to Mr. Lincoln's comment: In George Packer's book about the war in Iraq, he tells a story about the awkward last meeting between President Bush and then SecState Colin Powell. During this meeting, Powell's parting sentiment was that the President should be wary of Elliot Abrams, as he was "an active, card-carrying member of the Likud Party," And, as such, he was not giving the President advice based on the best interests of the United States of America. Even if this story is apocryphal, Mr. Abrams' actions are consistent with such an appraisal. Mr. Wolfensohn's comments in this article are just more evidence in support of his nefarious influence.
