Abbas clearly doesn't want peace because he's already rejected the principles most vital to Israel's interests and security. Israel's holiest site, the Western Wall, would be in Palestinian hands. Israel's borders would be indefensible. The proposal would ignore the 43 years of history and demographic changes. Not going to happen, and Abbas knows it. Of course if Israel was to make these concessions, he next insists on the return of so called Arab refugees hostile to the state of Israel who would complete Israel's destruction. He's just trying to give the appearance of negotiating in good faith. Of course anyone with any common sense can see through this farce. If Abbas was to accept anything less than the destruction of Israel, he would be summarily killed by Hezbollah, Hamas, and other radical Muslim elements. Right now, he serves a useful purpose to them so long as he can win concessions from Israel. Fortunately, Netanyahu can see through this charade.
