"Annapolis cannot be a failure because its very existence constitutes a success.. we are talking about the launching of negotiations that have not been held for seven years, in the presence of dozens of countries before the entire world." - Olmert Olmert has continually redefined down the goal of Annapolis, from a conference aiming at a Declaration of Principles for a peace agreement, to a declaration of intents(!), to giving the world a chance to show support for the peace process. This is not the mindset of a "partner". And the responsibility is shared by Bush, who applied NO pressure on Israel to show some willingness at real compromise. The good news is that the Winograd Commission is supposedly preparing to condemn Olmert's conduct of the war. This will remove any excuse for Labor to remain in the government and may force Kadima to replace the present nebisch with some real partner for peace.
