    Abbas is playing to the Palestinians. He is trying to position himself to appear as strong as possible in defeat. He has gone from asking for a final accord, to asking for an agreement to have a final accord. He fully understands, I am certain, that nothing will come of Annapolis and that afterwards there will be no final accord. He is trying to position himself for an accord with Hamas after Annapolis.
