The need to preempt Iran and export gas to Egypt was the reason the government gave to push through its controversial plan for Israel's natural gas. Now, this reason may no longer exist.08:52 31.08.15 | 1 comments
People are eagerly awaiting the UN vote. The Palestinians believe its in the bag and that magically their people will go marching through the streets of the West Bank and into the homes of Jewish Settlers and evict them. This would be far far from the truth. Unlike the General Assembly and Security Council resolutions that created the Partition in 1948 (which the Arab world ignored subsequently attacking and starting a war) this resolution goes against other UN resolutions on which several Israeli-Palestinian agreements are currently based. The Palestinians can't have it both ways. They can have a unilateral State declared but the Palestinian Authority and its agreements with Israel will become null and void. Israel will then be able to cease all aid, power, traversing of borders with the Palestinians pending a "Peace Treaty". This will surely cause violence which they will once again bring upon themselves by their intransigence and refusal to negotiate without conditions.
