What amazes me is that the Jewish people seems to have forgotten its roots. For centuries we struggled against outside forces to maintain our religion and nation. Now, after surviving the Holocaust, Communism, and a host of other plagues when we live in a time when Jews can choose whether to remain Jewish, we've made the cost of being Jewish so high - synagogue membership fees, hebrew school and Jewish day school tuition, community association membership fees (my local JCC demands over $3,000 a year for a family of 3 or more), embarrassingly expensive kosher food, etc. that we are giving Jews an incentive to walk away from their heritage instead of celebrating and living it!
