Jerusalem can never be a united city. When one walks down the alley ways of the various shuks, one notices that the streets are sign posted in Arabic and English. No Hebrew there. When one walks on the ramparts surrounding the Old City, churches and church bells are heard on Sundays, the muezzin calling the faithful to prayer from numerous minerets of the various mosques as well as the total absence of synagogues in this area is very characteristic. The time is more than ripe to realize that East Jerusalem should be the capital of Palestine with its connection to its non-Jewish character. It can never be otherwise. "United Jerusalem" is a great slogan for Zionists with blinkers covering their eyes by not facing a reality that exists.
