having just one in place, an ominous prospect for the fuse control. Israelis darling Lapid is offering nothing new; the overall Haredim military draft he advocates is hardly necessary thing, ask the army for an expert opinion; the real point about the Haredim is to stop them getting money for nothing, a money that is stripped by high taxation from the hard working sectors of the society and to force parasites go work, that’s all. As for the bloodsucking housing prices in Israel under Netanyahu reign of last four years, it is obvious that the certain market and other forces close to Netanyahu regime are acting in concert to make the profits at the expense of normal citizens while simultaneously providing affordable housing for Shas and similar Netanyahu’s “natural” partners. Lapid entering the government alone will not and cannot break that corrupt tie. As for the prospects for the peace with the Palestinians, Yesh Atid political platform of Lapid says resolutely “a united Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital” and “settlement construction to meet natural growth,” speaks precisely like Netanyahy does. Thus, the editorial’s request that Lapid must insist on supporting compromise and partition of the land is regrettably unsubstantiated. Also, liberal Lapid is for maintaining blending of state and religion. Therefore, having the status quo conserved in all aspects of the life in Israel seems quite realistic upshot as much as Netanyhu stays in power.
