is a devastating injury--both physically and emotionally. There are two essential facts which must be clarified: 1) did the canister ricochette off the wall before it struck her, 2) What was she doing at a protest anyway. A ricochette would indicate that she was probably not targeted for a direct hit--which would be a violation of crowd control protocol. The other question was whether she was an active participant in the melee and mob of the demonstration or merely a casual/interested onlooker lending 'moral' support. I always hate to see a young person marred by a bad or careless decision. Here's to the best recovery she can make--may her life be full of successes from here on.
