You are trying to find logic in places where emotion, and not logic rules. Prior to 1948 (and even today), the Arabs did not want to sell land to Jews. They did not want to share. They did not want to recognize that Jews have a place in this region. So please tell us what we could have done then that would have set the stage for peace and harmony for future generations? No matter what we do, whether it is buying land legally or showing that we are willing to share, there is no reciprocal message from the other side.
