The fact that Israel violated the IV Geneva Convention and transferred parts of its civilian population onto land it held under belligerent occupation cannot be rewarded by allowing the settlements built illegally to remain. Israel would like one to believe that removing those which it had no problem illegally transferring in the first place would be a devastating hardship upon Israel and thus they should be allowed to keep their plunder, but what of the hardship endured by Palestinians over the last 40 years. The Just resolution is to give all the settlements built beyond the green line to the refugees who were denied their right of return in lieu of their resettlement inside of Israel proper, as is their right. That would be a major concession by both sides and a fair and equitable solution to the conflict.
