High-ranking Central Command officer sees attacks lasting for months, doesn't rule out further escalation; Ya'alon: Israel will expand West Bank fence.01:56 26.11.15 | 1 comments
....with our political system. This is nothing new. We, in the US, are thoroughly complicit in the occupation. Israel's behavior is, to a significant degree, a symptom of the corrupt manner in which politics is done here in America. A complete reforming of the laws governing how politicians are elected would go a long to improving governance in this county generally and to achieving a solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict in particular. Conversely, the status quo simply wastes resources (taxpayer money, international credibility, human lives), emboldens Israel and fuels the conflict. One can dream of better things. In the meantime, I suppose that if it's any consolation (and it really isn't) ,at least Newt would not feign disapproval of every time new settlements are built and Arabs are dispossessed.
