Let me say immediately that I disagree with Ronnie Kasrils about the need for a Jewish state. It was a question of survival, and Jews have legitimate rights in the era of the nation-state to a homeland. Now that I have said that, Kasrils should be honored as a peson of principle, dedicated to fighting against racism and colonialism. Israelis should be embarrassed by their association with the vicious apartheid regime. Further, the present colonialist occupation of the territories is an historic tragedy; presently it has little or nothing to do with security; it has everything to do with occupying another people that has the same rights to statehood as the Jewish people. Enough with Bantustan offers; enough with the persecution of the Palestinians. Get the hell out of the occupied territories. Jews from all over should embrace the chant of Kasrils; "NOT IN MY NAME!"
