The Goldstone Report accused Israel of various war crimes, including the destruction by repeated air-raids of the Jabalya Sewage treatment plant. If this is what the German minister wanted to see, then it was probably better not to let him enter Gaza and get a heart attack at the site. Germans might have gone up in arms against the destruction, which is better than just being angry about Israel not letting a minister into Gaza. Fortunately, Egypt may now allow German diplomats entry into Gaza, so this is a way that can be used. Incidentally, Israel refused the Goldstone team entry to Gaza, so they came in through Egypt. On the other hand, if Egypt allows such entry to Gaza, why would Israel bar it? Somebody is not thinking things through, I am afraid.
