There's no doubt in my mind that this is possible and necessary for global stability. The remaining nations of the Arab League, which are also Muslim, will also achieve peace with Israel as their 2002 Arab Peace Initiative proposed. And the extremist Muslims with their agenda is a relatively new phenomenon because the methodology of the terrorism has exacerbated towards the West - Israel represents also the Western civilization. Al-Qaeda stated that their attacks against NYC, not just 9/11, were in revenge of the conflict between the Palestinians and Israel. The Palestinians want nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, but the animosity creates an excuse for them to exploit the situation. This is also an excuse but that's what they've used for recruiting Muslims and as long as Israel is perceived as occupying the Palestinians, other extremists, such as recently the Pakistani Muslims, are blaming their unrest on Israel. Lastly, espoinage which would prevent terrorist attacks is also very difficult to implement and coordinate against them consistently and it's vital that the Imams be included in educating the Muslims that terrorism has no place in Islam. For example, the current successful cease-fire between Israel and Gaza is holding and it was an additional help that a chief Imam stated that anyone who violates the cease-fire, will be issued a Fatawa against them and it's mentioned by him that it's a disservice to the Palestinian people.
