Little more than 100 years ago there was liberal discussion of a new concept Judeo-Christian, which was to emphasize that Christianity grew from Judaism and thus anti-Semitism was unacceptable. Shortly before and during WW II the term took on a political meaning as an anti-Nazi political slogan. Now we have a curious alignment of Jewish and Christian ultra-right wing extremist and fundamentalist elements - to say nothing of their Islamic counterparts - who are determined to take total control of western civilization. They are doomed of course and in due course they will vanish. But before then they - and their Islamic alter-egos - will cause much more suffering. "Onward Judeo-Christian Soldiers Marching Forth For War. . . " But they don't really have a cross of Jesus to march behind. Not the Shield of David. Rather some sort of twisted cross. Who is controlling Western Civilization - those who hate it such as the religious right - or the rest of us?

Why the Jewish establishment won’t condemn the occupation

Unless more U.S. Jews who oppose the occupation become members of established Jewish organizations and donate money, the establishment is unlikely to heed calls of those who want it to condemn the occupation.
