Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
The Holocaust is an appalling and enormous crime, but it is also a crime that took place a long time ago now. What the world really needs to be doing today is saying 'we don't just go after Holocaust criminals, we go after ALL war crriminals'. A prospective war criminal of today isn't going to be deterred if we're only chasing 90 year old Nazi camp guards while ignoring a whole host of more recent and equally bad, or worse, war criminals. Som effort has been made on Rwanda and Bosnia, though frankly, it's pitifully little, but where is the will to pursue those thousands who, for instance, murdered, multilated, raped, and massacred their way across the Congo and Darfur?
