The Palestinians see the West Bank and the Gaza Strip as part of one land, separated by a hostile foreign entity. Israel sees the two areas as a chance to divide-and-rule. To "leave" Gaza to rot, and point to that as evidence the Pals can't govern themselves. To continue to beat the living shit out of the militants in the West Bank, and point to that as evidence that the Palestinians are mindless killers. To what purpose? What IS Israel attempting to achieve, other than furthering the misery of the Pals? The IDF isn't keeping the lid on tensions in the WB by killing anyone it doesn't like, and it isn't keeping the lid on tensions in Gaza by besieging it. Give it up, guys. Try dimplomaticy instead. Rubinstein is right, and you security-comes-from-a-gun nitwits have it wrong. Give the Pals a *reason* to invest in peace and they will. Keep the boot to their throats and they won't, coz - let's face it - what's in it for them? Nothing but endless misery, is what.

Palestinian workers stand under a shelter

You love Israel and hate occupation. What do you do?

There's a certain freedom in a time of extremism and obsession and chaos. Freedom to chart a new course. Freedom to love Israel. Freedom to help undo what it's done in your name.

How Isaiah gave Hebrew its word for vagina

If St Jerome and other experts are right, Israelis may have thought that 'pot' meant vulva, but actually they were saying cup. Or forehead. Or maybe something else.
