You have conveniently forgotten how Arafat previously in Gaza received billions in foreign aid over the years sacrificially collected by the West yet budgeted only for meagre wooden signs that promised the building of this and that. He either pocketed the money or bought influence and weapons for a lost cause. Hamas is not much better. The Palestinians have been given a prestigious stretch of land along the highly desirable Mediterannean coast to build on yet their futile, militant demeanor has turned the area into a wasteland. If the money had been spent wisely, Gaza could have been quite a sight to behold with its citizens enjoying a higher standard of living, and there would have been not even one dollar left over to buy a bullet as it was not needed.
