I too dream of peace. But peace is made by two - and not by outsiders. War is made by one and sometimes by two and in this case by THREE! Today we have a state of war, and have had since 1948 or before. I cannot see any solution in my lifetime. Blame one, blame the other, blame history, it is the same. But to believe that Israel's Labor Party has the solution is pipe-dreaming. They have offered no solution yet. And to believe the current PA has the solution is worse pipe-dreaming. The 2-state solution is dead because of Gaza, lost to the PA. The old solution must now be a 3-state solution. No one is yet talking of that. Moreover I believe that the West Bank and Israel must be federated as a single state, so that Jerusalem is NOT divided. No one is yet talking of that. We have a long way to go, not a short way. There needs to be a generation of cooperation before a final settlement can be on the table. I believe even the Israeli Right would welcome a cooperative PA. So until the two (three?) parties see the light, no one in the USA has anything to offer.
