The HAARETZ editorial states that a large majority of the Israeli public continues to support leaving the occupied territories in exchange for a peace agreement. I am not so sure about that, especially after the takeover of Gaza by HAMAS. There should be (1) new elections for the Knesset or, in the alternative (2) a national referendum with that question (statement) directed to the Israeli public. That is the best way to find out.
