More than 70% of Israelis already own apartments? And what percentage is desirable for the protesters, 100%? Sub-prime mortgage remains an undesirable economical phenomenon even if disguised by a government intervention. I hate to make comparisons with my country, but thousands of families live in incredible poverty here, and yet they own their homes due to the housing policies of Hungary that sometimes consume more than 5% of the GDP. Five percent of the total output spent on millionaire paupers thus creating an incredibly absurd society. This simply cannot be a goal for smart Israelis.
