Whereas the 'ideological left' and Arab media regretfully have a one-eyed view and a single voice vilifying Israel for every action that she does or does not do, there is a near omnipresent silence regarding the Palestinian leadership and the extremely serious shortcomings that they have in their own governance and in their own approach to moving towards peace. Furthermore the Arab media (followed by the rest of the world) remains dead silent regarding one of the most serious human tragedies regarding the Palestinian people - that 3 or 4 generations after their flight from Israel after the 1948 independence war, most of them remain as refugees and without rights throughout most of the Arab world. This is a huge human tragedy fueled by years of neglect, apathy and one-eyed blindness of the Arab and world media. Amira, this small article in the context of neglect to criricize Arab government(s) for their potential misgivings is a good start. I contend that a future peace in this region will require that the world (and especially Arab) media opens up and forces Arab nations and national Palestinian organizations to look inwards and self reflect about their own misgivings and not only vilify "the other side", the latter which is Modus operandi today. Israel should be treated the same way.
