How come Israel indulges in such HARSH SELF-CRITICISM? Well, it had no other choice. The alternative to show its engaging in INVESTIGATING ITS OWN WAR CRIMES, would be for the ICC in Den Haag (The Hague) to take the matter into its hands. The problem which Israel seeks to resolve is rooted in The Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which upholds the principle of Complementarity and has no authority over cases that have already been investigated "genuinely" by the relevant country. Now Israel seeks to appear as if it "genuinely" investigates its own War Crimes... Past experience has shown that the GSS (Shin Bet) "Investigated" HUNDREDS of Accusations of Torture, but did not rule on a SINGLE case. The same is true about most cases taken by the IOF Military Persecutor. Türkel panel's call is but another futile exercise in BLUFFING International Law - as if no War Crimes have not been committed by the "IDF".
