Yael Patir, Israel director of the left-leaning U.S. Jewish body, sat down with Haaretz to talk about Trump, the gap between U.S. and Israeli Jews, and the growing anger at the Israeli peace camp. Though she concedes boycott efforts by some on the left have a negative effect, she rejects calls to keep peace efforts local.01:12 01.05.16 | 4 comments
Israel was taught a few lessons from the 2 nd. Lebanon War. Tanks are useless. Bombarding civilian areas cause International outcries. Corvettes are subject to missile attack. The answer lies in Stealth Aircraft combined with Special Forces. The trouble is that all these variants are well known to Hezbollah. They will fire their missiles from outlying schools, hospitals and even from granny·s backyard vegetable patch. The answer is finding some sort of arrangement. If not, Armageddon over Lebanon is imminent. One must remember, that Mr.Nasrallah is a hero in the Arab World, for he alone fought the IDF to a standstill, which no other Arab Army could achieve. I say this with certain misgivings, for that alone could well be, reason enough for the order to return to those heady days when Hezbollah was firing hundreds of missiles daily,.. hitting civilian targets in Haifa and surrounding areas. ZAHAL can and will prevail. However, at what cost.? Thousands of Lebanese will die. Hezbollah is the key. They should stick to social services and local politics in a responsible manner.. Good day from icy Swiss Alps.
