Transparency and openess - fine: "This is organisation X. It was founded by Y, and it is financed by ABC. Here is the latest report". Then we read and analyze, and we check their facts, and we bring forward other facts and so on. Why? Because we have very high democratic standards and ideals in this country. We are extremely proud of Tzahal and their great achievements, but we don´t want to have individual soldiers than run amok and commit crimes. We understand the need for checkpoints, but we don´t want individual soldiers to harass the palestinians that are caught in a depressing situation. When we send Katzav, Deri, Olmert (possibly) and Hirschson to jail, then we are protecting our state. And the same is true when the NGOs directs our attention to things and behaviours that we would prefer to ignore. And at the end of the day - if an NGO just keeps producing biased reports in order to sell us a specific worldview, then this NGO will soon be irrelevant. And at the same token - the serious NGOs will survive, and they are good for Israel.
