It's not round # 1 of Iran versus Israel. Iran is facing a "match" everywhere, from the UN-Security Council to the waters of the Persian Gulf. It has sown terror and proxies, and will reap the consequences of it. As for Israel, the blunders at every level of this Second Lebanon war, will -also through the Winograd Commission's publication- only strengthen the IDF, the whole decision making process within itself and between it and the government, the short and long range strategies for defending Israel. Thus, even if horribly painful for the bereaved families of the fallen, both in Lebanon and in the Home Front, it will not be in vain: Israel will be better prepared for the future, learning from the mistakes it made in this war, which -as a failed exam- is turning extremely educational. Iran has in turn ostensibly failed to learn its lessons, and the resulting weakening of it, disguised in its bravado since Ahmadinejad is in power, are in front of our eyes.
