Hamas is under pressure twice over, from both the worsening domestic situation in the Strip and the militant organization potentially losing its main threat against Israel.23:32 03.05.16 | 0 comments
Gideon Levy is off the mark when it comes to his reasoning on terror. Contrary to popular belief the Al-Qaeda terrorist leaders are not poor, unfortunate members of the Wahabi sect of Islam. Osama bin Laden is one of the wealthiest terrorist leaders in the world. He is short of nothing and the same goes for his deputies. The use of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan as an excuse to carry out terror attacks is ridiculous. What excuse is there for the mega attack of the World Trade Centre on 11th September 2001? Iraq and Afghanistan? What about the attacks on Mombassa, Bali, Madrid and all the other many attacks by Islamist militants? There is one reason for the perpetrators of Islamist terror and that is the conversion of the Western World to their brand of Islamism (not to be confused with Islam whose believers are mostly law abiding people). These Islamist terrorists will use any reason for carrying out terror whether it is the Israeli occupation of Palestine (which in their view Israel is occupied territory) or any other figment of their warped imaginations as a result of failure to compete with the West economically or socially. They are bloodthirsty scum that ought to be eradicated. The moment the world shows understanding or tries to find some psychological reason for terror attacks; the battle against international terror will be lost. Terror is terror and there ought to be unity in eradicating it rather than indulging in self-flagellation for finding a reason for its existence.
