B: "UK is much more qualified to be "the world`s sole remaining `western colonial power`" since Gibraltar is not an adjoining UK territory" That last word trips you up; Gibraltar is not a COLONY, it a TERRITORY i.e. Britain has had sovereignty since the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht. Contrast the Israeli settlements, which ARE established on non-Israeli land. That makes Israel a modern-day colonizer of other people's land. Gibraltar does not, because that land belongs to Britain, not Spain. B: "Typical thing about "western colonial power" is its overseas location." No, the "typical thing" is the seizure of someone else's land to establish your own colonies. The reason why Britain did that "overseas" was because the land just across the Channel was rather more difficult to seize. Those pesky French! Britain USED to do this. It doesn't any more. It is therefore no longer a colonial power. Israel is.
